Ayesha Aslam Khan is our fellow from Mumbai, Maharashtra.

She is inspired by Bhagat Singh and has always been motivated by her mother, Ayesha developed a strong sense of justice and intolerance for violence.

In 2017 Ayesha entered social work, she worked closely with the Dabbawalas of Mumbai, helping with medical aid, children's education, providing them with proper documentation like Voter ID card.

Her organisation, called Daulat Foundation (which she runs with her husband), has aided almost 8500-10000 people through food distribution, sanitisation and medical supplies during Covid -19.

She firmly believes in the ideas of Brotherhood and helps people irrespective of religious orientation. “I believe in SARVA DHARMA SAMBHAV so no matter what time it is and who it is, if someone needs any help we help them”.

She helped save over 600 families from forced eviction by the government during the Dharavi Project. She says “all of a sudden thousands of people were dispossessed of their homes and belongings. I started my legal research and prevented this forced eviction.”

Even though she has been a member of Indian National Congress 2019. She joined the Indira Fellowship as she is influenced by Indira Gandhi and she truly believes that Shakti Abhiyaan which speaks about women's rights will give women a platform to raise their voice.

She believes that the fellowship has helped her build more self confidence and when she received the stipend it gave her a sense of “empowerment “.

She uses this platform to make women aware of schemes like Mahalaxmi mentioned in the Congress manifesto which will make women financially aware.

Through her Fellowship she wants to develop Dharavi provide education to children especially the girlchild to limit child labour and their harassment.

She wants to help senior citizens, especially older ladies abandoned by family. They are denied any aid like ration cards as it's difficult to obtain biometric data.

She does have political ambitions and wants to help women in slum areas who do not have proper awareness against domestic violence. She wants to inspire others and wants to work towards religious harmony which she believes is spreading by indoctrination among youth, senior citizens and children.

She wants to use her skills of mediation to resolve social problems and limit violence as much as she can.

Despite so many activities Ayesha is pursuing LLB.
