Diksha Dipaknath Pawar is our fellow from Aurangabad Maharashtra.
Despite belonging to a middle class household she has never faced any financial constraints and has successfully finished her bachelor's in Journalism, Master's in Sociology and is pursuing a PHD currently.
Diksha has always been interested in politics and has participated in many political events. However she says that the political field is very difficult for women. As women are just invited for their presence and are overlooked when it comes to positions but male politicians are given more preferences.
Apart from being politically active Diksha is also a social activist and has her own organisation called YUVA PARV which helps with fee reduction as well as sponsorship for students or poor families.
She joined the Indira Fellowship as it was a Congress Party initiative where work was done seriously and fellows were paid stipend for.
She believes that the fellowship's motto of AADHI ABADI POORA HAQ will encourage women in party politics.
She has political aspirations and sees herself as a future politician.
She seeks to create more awareness among women about the Power of their votes. She wants women to feel empowered and utilise the political system.
Currently, Diksha is MAHILA ZILLA ADHIYAKSH (Women district president).
